Big Brother is Watching You, But What is He Doing with All That Information?Red Light Cameras, Grocery Store Scan Cards, Digital Video Recorders, Cell Phones, GPS – all gathering information of what we do, where we go, what we buy and what we watch. Add to that the explosion of social networking (Twitter, Facebook), and we as a community are also supplying this information. Those who spearhead the technology say these advances are creating a world where news, services and products are readily available to those who specifically want or need them. But the other side fears we are in an Orwellian “1984” World already, where constant surveillance interferes with our personal rights and freedoms. Where is all this information going? Who is using it? And how is it affecting our lives?Guests: Dennis Adams, UH; Rebecca Bernhardt, ACLU of TX; Christopher Bronk, Rice University
