Just One Thing with Steven Gundry, Md

Duration: 1:27:27

Aging is not linked, scientifically, with joint pain, memory loss, frailty and a host of other negative stereotypes of getting older. Based on researching the world's longest living people and treating patients at his waitlist clinics six days a week, Dr. Steven Gundry-renowned surgeon, medical researcher and bestselling author-explains why aging doesn't have to equate to decline and loss of freedom. Dr. Gundry then reveals the 'just one thing' that leads to living well until a ripe old age. The program ends with a step-by-step approach to help us feel better and more youthful today while offering revolutionary, yet simple, methods to losing weight, reducing our need for medications and increasing our healthspan.

Keto Diet with Dr Josh Axe
HD CC

Keto Diet with Dr Josh Axe

Duration: 1:28:38

Following his very successful first program, Dr. Josh Axe returns to public television in an entertaining new presentation to share cutting-edge health and nutrition advice based on his new book The Keto Diet. In his familiar upbeat style, Dr. Axe puts his own fresh spin on the widely successful and well-researched keto diet. Unlike many fad diets that come and go with very limited rates of long-term success, the ketogenic diet (or "keto diet") has been practiced for more than nine decades and is based upon a solid understanding of physiology and nutrition science. The program showcases delicious food and recipe options. It includes a demonstration of how to make Dr. Axe's preferred keto-friendly, gut-healing smoothie recipe. Dr. Axe clearly outlines the great benefits of the keto diet beyond fasting and weight loss: reduced risk for type 2 diabetes, reduced risk of heart disease, resistance to brain and neurological disorders, and more. The keto diet works for a high percentage of people and it targets several key, underlying causes of weight gain, including hormonal imbalances. This is especially true of insulin resistance coupled with high blood sugar levels. The keto diet also ends the cycle of restricting and binging on empty calories that so many dieters struggle with. That cycle is often a result of hunger, which is not a factor on the keto diet, as the list of approved, satiating foods is long.

WOMEN OF THE WATERSHED highlights the roles women have played in the conservation of the Florida Everglades, beginning with the suffragette movement of the early 20th century up to today. Hosted by Chloe Barnett - a Latina teenager, passionate conservationist and Florida resident - the film offers insightful interviews with present-day scientists, advocates and artists engaged in modern-day conservation activities. Chloe begins her journey in the Florida Keys, where a freshwater drought impacts the area's seagrass, mangroves and coral reefs. As she travels up through the expansive watershed in search of the headwaters in Orlando's suburbs, Chloe seeks to better understand the historic challenges of water management and pollution that now threaten this fragile ecosystem and the work being done by a new generation of advocates who are redefining the balance of women in conservation. Chloe grew up along the edge of this massive watershed, leading to her inspiration for this journey. As an advocate for the environment, Chloe was an active member of the Everglades Foundation's High School Leadership Committee. Additionally, she served as an intern with the Frost Science Museum through a program with the Smithsonian as an Ambassador representing the Museum of the American Latino in Washington, D.C. Her passion for the water eventually materialized through coral restoration initiatives in the Florida Keys as well as with the Rescue a Reef program at the University of Miami.

Matt is setting up the farm for his family's annual Halloween Pumpkin Patch Party and he is so excited! All his relatives come for the celebration, and even Grammy will be there this year! Inez and Jackie urge Matt to take a quick break and go into Cyberspace for Haunt-O-Rama at R-Fair City - an amusement park cybersite lit up to the nines for the Halloween holiday. The girls assure Matt he will be back home in plenty of time, and he agrees to go. But all their plans change when Hacker traps the kids on R-Fair City, hacking the portal system so they can't get back to Earth! (He thought he was keeping them out of Cyberspace for good, but alas, Buzz and Delete botched their task yet again.) Upset that he came to R-Fair City in the first place, Matt is worried about missing his family's party. The kids must find enough energy on R-Fair City to power Digit's old Portal Rebooter and fix the system. With the Halloween celebration in full swing, can they find enough big and small ways to save energy amid the bright lights? And will Matt make it back in time to see Grammy?
