Omaha, Nebraska born Robert Reuben was 25 years old and witnessing combat for the first time in his life as a Reuters News correspondent during WWII. He parachuted with the U.S. Airborne during the Normandy invasion. He was the first journalist to land in Normandy and spent months writing articles about the U.S. soldiers fighting and dying in Europe. Nebraskan Barney Oldfield was one of General Eisenhower's public information officers who recruited and vetted a select group of war correspondents for the D-Day invasion. Oldfield had previously served with the U.S. Army Airborne and struck a deal with Reuben and five other war correspondents. If they could make it through Airborne Jump School and survive five practice parachute jumps they could skydive into Normandy with Airborne soldiers and be the first to report on the ground.

Together, they will teach Rich about the history and relevance of Walleye to the Mohawk of the St. Lawrence river and Great Lake regions. She has curated Haida art exhibits across Canada but found her true calling in Haida hand poke tattoos. Tattooing was an important part of Haida culture, signifying family lineage and rank in society. Kwiaahwah draws inspiration from being out on the land and water in Haida Gwaii. She sees the revitalization of Haida tattooing as a reconnection to her ancestors.

Injunuity is a collage of reflections on the Native American world, our shared past, our turbulent present, and our undiscovered future. From Columbus to the western expansion to tribal casinos, we are taught that the Native way, while at times glorious, is something of the past, something that needed to be replaced by a manifest destiny from across the ocean. But in a world increasingly short of real answers, it is time we looked to Native wisdom for guidance. It is time for some Injunuity. Injunuity is a mix of animation, music, and real thoughts from real people exploring our world from the Native American perspective. Every word spoken is verbatim, every thought and opinion is real, told in nine short pieces and covering such topics as language preservation, sacred sites, and the environment. But rather than simply revisit our history, the goal of Injunuity is to help define our future, to try and figure out the path that lies before us, to focus on where we are going as well as where we have been.
