This episode looks at the incredible man-made creations of Stonehenge and the Pyramids of Giza. Stonehenge is a magnificent structure, built almost undoubtedly as a place of worship, as the stones align perfectly with the sunrise on the summer solstice. It is still debated by scholars today why the site of Stonehenge is particularly significant, as the builders had to transport the extremely large stones, which weigh a massive 50 tons each, nearly 156 miles from North Pembrokeshire. The Pyramids, built as tombs for the country's Pharaohs and their consorts, are incredible structures, and the Pyramid of Khufu at Giza stands today as the only one of the Seven Wonders of the World still in existence. These enigmatic creations still leave both architects and scholars alike wondering at the purposes of their many intriguing interior features.
