Get your kicks on Route 66 in Flagstaff, Arizona. We're headed to the famous Barringer meteor crater outside of town. It is the best preserved meteorite impact site on Earth formed 50,000 years ago by a giant meteor weighing several hundred thousand tons. This crater is 550 feet deep, 2.4 miles in circumference and nearly a mile across. Then we scan the stars for heavenly bodies at Lowell Observatory founded in 1894. We'll view through a variety of telescopes and experience interactive live presentations in the mini-planetarium. We'll learn the history of the region at the Northern Arizona History Museum one of the great regional museums of the world. Founded in 1928, it inspires love and responsibility for the beauty and diversity of the Colorado Plateau. Finally we swing from their many ponderosa pines at Flagstaff Extreme adventure park.
