Communications is a tool with which we exercise our influence on others, bring out changes in attitudes, motivate the people around us and establish and maintain relationships with them. The invention of the printing press in the late 15th century, gave rise to the first forms of mass communication. It also transformed the way the world received printed materials. After the 2nd World War, radio, television and video were introduced and furthered the way we interact. Non-verbal communication can also be used to express ideas and thoughts. Alexander Graham Bell was credited with inventing the first practical telephone and also did extensive research and experiments with hearing devices.
