Seven inspirational sports legends were inducted into the 2024 Broward County Sports Hall of Fame during a celebratory awards banquet and induction ceremony on at the Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort. Inductees were Elliot Bonner, former football and baseball coach in Broward County, Darius Butler, sports personality and former NFL cornerback and safety, Abbas Karimi, swimmer and paralympic athlete, Diana Nyad, long-distance swimmer, author, journalist and motivational speaker Steve Shapiro, former WSVN sports anchor, Lexi Thompson, professional golfer on the LPGA tour and the Hollywood Hills High School 1973 4A State Championship Football Team.
