Kanzi's family has moved from Egypt to America, and on her first day in a new school, what she wants more than anything is to fit in. Maybe that's why she forgets to take the kofta sandwich her father has made for her lunch, but that backfires when Mama shows up at school with the sandwich. Mama wears a hijab and calls her daughter Habibti (dear one). When she leaves, the teasing starts. That night, Kanzi wraps herself in the beautiful Arabic quilt her teita (grandma) in Cairo gave her and writes a poem in Arabic about the quilt. The next day her teacher sees the poem and gets the entire class excited about creating a "quilt" (a paper collage) of student names in Arabic. In the end, Kanzi's most treasured reminder of her old home provides a pathway for acceptance in her new one.

She lived for an adventure - in the air, the water, and on land - and nothing could stop her, especially not being a girl. When Betty Skelton was young there weren't many women flying airplanes or racing cars, but she wouldn't let that stop her. She was always ready to take on a challenge, and she loved to have fun. Betty rode motorcycles, raced cars, jumped out of planes, and flew jets, helicopters, gliders, and blimps. And by the time she was an adult, Betty was known in the press as the 'First Lady of Firsts!'

Outside of the United States and Canada, soccer is called football. And in Brazil, which is synonymous with this world game, it is this country's passion that has produced some of the world's best players, one of whom is known as the "King of Football" or "King of Soccer," Pele. At the age of 17, Pele joined Brazil's World Cup team, fulfilling a promise made to his father to win a World Cup for him. He starred until 1966, when an injured Pele swore he would not play in another World Cup after allegations of cheating. Meanwhile, Pele's club "Santos" played exhibition matches around the world during breaks in the season, and in 1969 Pele scored his millionth goal in a game against Argentina. Crowds swarmed onto the field as history was made, and from then on Brazilians have been known to reminisce about where they were when Pele scored the "Mallisima."

The Boeing 737 twin engine jetliner was to become Boeing's greatest success. Launched in 1967, the short range transport entered service the following year, and has remained in production ever since. In the 737, they have combined the best of all previous Boeing air craft. Among these is the fact that it has one of the lowest approach speeds of any jet transport, a great asset when landing at smaller airports with shorter runways. It also required minimum equipment for use in refueling. However, despite all its advantages, the 737 was soon overshadowed by the new, improved 747 Jumbo jet.
