Having spent most of his career playing action men such as "Die Hard's" John McLean, Bruce Willis seemed both humbled and bemused to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2006, telling the crowd that he used to wonder what people did "to get one of these"; not really believing he was now one of the fortunate few to be immortalized on the famous sidewalk. An embarrassing stutter would be the catalyst to lead him into acting - he found performing on stage rid him of the speech impediment completely. Now, some thirty years later, the cool, confident Willis is synonymous with witty, tough heroes - as far from being a shy kid affected by stuttering as you can get.

Journey to the Wild West on today's episode of Travel Thru History! Take a peek behind the curtain of the most entertaining city in the world. While the city is known for its endless entertainment options we'll take a look into the intriguing roots that were much different from what Las Vegas is today. We get things rolling by visiting the first permanent structure that was built in the valley. It was a small adobe Mormon Fort that was constructed by Mormon Missionaries. We'll learn how this became an essential crossroad for travelers. We'll blast our way into the 1940's and 50's as we visit the National Atomic Testing museum to learn about how the desert outside of Vegas was used for testing America's secret nuclear weapons. Next we visit the Neon Museum Boneyard, the final resting place for those large neon signs used to light up Las Vegas skyline. Put aside your previous notions of Las Vegas because we're going to prove that there is so much more to Las Vegas than rolling dice.
