Palm Springs, California, is an epicenter of three great wildflower sites and host Martin Hale expertly guides us through all three. The range of mountains closest to Palm Springs is the Santa Rosa/San Jacinto Mountains, which are the westernmost reach of the Sonoran Desert. Some of the wildflowers we discover here are transitional; also we find a waterfall in the desert. Plus, Shawn will meet up with a drone pilot and see how unmanned aerial vehicles are replacing helicopters and making it much simpler to shoot aerial video for TV shows.
Follow the team as they work onboard a commercial fishing vessel to help save a prehistoric sixgill shark tangled in deep set fishing lines. Watch Neil and Choy bring the shark to the side of the boat and work in difficult conditions to remove dozens of hooks, cut steel lines and attach a tracking tag before Neil swims this massive shark back to the deep ocean.
