The objective of this program is to demonstrate effective strategies kids can use to protect themselves against teasing, harassment and bullying. Several vignettes show situations in which kids are being teased. Peer actors then model ways to resolve the situation in a safe and positive way. By viewing this program, children will also come to understand that teasing is not fun for everyone, especially for the child being teased.

Following a recipe involves understanding and enacting a step-by-step process: applications of mathematical processes such as logic, sequential thinking and following directions. Recipes involve portions and measurements, often needing doubling for a large crowd or dividing for a smaller group, necessitating the application of arithmetic skills with fractions and whole numbers involving all the computational operations: adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing.

Read for the Record is an international campaign designed by Jumpstart to get thousands of children reading the same book on the same day. Broward's Read for the Record serves as the annual kick- off of our Campaign to ensure that all children can read on grade level by third grade. We use this day to unite thousands of children and volunteers to read the same book on the same day, all in support of literacy and early learning.
