Helena will talk with a victim's advocate and hear how she provides needed support to victims of crime so they can get through the traumatic period following the crime. Then Shawn will visit a children's hospital where he meets a respiratory therapist. He'll learn about the some of the treatments he uses to help his patients breathe freely. It is important that judges make the best decision on a case. Helena will talk with an attorney who assists a judge by researching the law as a judicial law clerk.
CLIMATE CHANGE STUDENT FEATURE - A group of teenage students took a trip to the Swiss Alps to see for themselves how global warming is affecting Europe's climate. The trip was sponsored by DEFRA. CANADA CLIMATE CHANGE - Toronto has been built to withstand cold icy temperatures, but not oppressive smog-laden heat. MIDDLE EAST CLIMATE STUDY - British scientists began a 5-year study in the Middle East and Africa to link climate, water availability, and human settlement for the future. CLIMATE CHANGE -Researchers are blaming climate warming for the low rainfall and water levels at the famous Lake Balaton in Hungary. ANCIENT SPIDER - Spiders are great indicators of climate regimes and how they have changed in the past.

Read for the Record is an international campaign designed by Jumpstart to get thousands of children reading the same book on the same day. Broward's Read for the Record serves as the annual kick- off of our Campaign to ensure that all children can read on grade level by third grade. We use this day to unite thousands of children and volunteers to read the same book on the same day, all in support of literacy and early learning.
