After more than forty years of working in the film industry, George Lucas still gets just as much of a kick out of his movies as his fans do. A car accident forced him to change course in his career, taking liberal arts over pursuing a racing career, and almost fifty years later he is worth an estimated three billion dollars. A meeting with Francis Ford Coppola after winning a scholarship from Warner Brothers was the catalyst to change Lucas' life forever. At age 30 he wrote and directed "American Graffiti," which was loosely based on his own experiences as a teenager; that film picked up four Oscar nominations, including Best Picture, Best Director and Best Screenplay, but it was his next film, "Star Wars," that catapulted him into the stratosphere of big-time movie directors.

Named after the famous painter because his pregnant mother was viewing the works of da Vinci when she first felt baby son kick, the talented actor Leonard DiCaprio got his break in Hollywood at the age of sixteen. Playing the mentally-challenged brother of Johnny Depp in "What's Eating Gilbert Grape," he was nominated for an Academy Award. But it was his portrayal of Romeo in Baz Luhrmann's "Romeo and Juliet" that made him a household name. Leonardo followed that movie up with perhaps his biggest role to date, in James Cameron's "Titanic. " Roles have come and gone since, of course, but one thing is for certain, Leonardo DiCaprio will forever be remembered for standing on the front of the famous doomed ocean liner with his arms wrapped around Kate Winslet.
Angelina Jolie has already lived a life that few could rival. She is the third actress in history to earn $20 million for a film, but winning accolades does not fuel her true mission in life. She is driven by a commitment to help those less fortunate, and this quest runs skin deep in this remarkable woman. Angelina became aware of worldwide humanitarian crises while filming "Tomb Raider" in poverty stricken Cambodia. Deeply affected by what she saw, Jolie then turned to the United Nations' High Commissioner for Refugees and became a Goodwill Ambassador for them in 2002. In 2005, she made her third visit to Pakistan to help victims of the Kashmir earthquake, and the devastation had a profound effect on Jolie and her partner Brad Pitt. Since that trip, Angelina and Brad have used their global profiles to generate support for causes that don't appear in the mainstream media. They set up the Jolie-Pitt Foundation and have cleverly used the public's interest in their lives to help their causes, but the real challenge for the two is finding a balance between their careers and their family of three adopted and three natural children.

The year 1950 was a pivotal year for innovations in air travel, marking the start of the Jet age after the invention of the jet engine by Frank Whittle some nine years earlier. Airlines began to spring up everywhere, catering to the demands of passengers wanting to go just about anywhere, but the flights were domestic only at the time. Pre-war travel was sold as a luxury experience afforded only by the rich, but post war, the emphasis was on comfort and customer service for both the rich and middle class. However air travel was still out of reach for those on a low income. Speed was the key, getting passengers from New York to London or Paris in six and a half to seven hours was the various airlines' biggest coup.
