Outside of the United States and Canada, soccer is called football and one of the most popular, and successful, football clubs in the world is the English Premier League powerhouse, Manchester United. Man U has come a long, long way since its humble beginnings as a works' team for the Lancashire and Yorkshire depot back in 1878. Riding out the vagaries of fortune over its first 130 years, Man U, which is based in Old Trafford, Greater Manchester, England, has risen all the way to the top, having won a record 20 league titles. Not only one of the most successful clubs in the league, they have also set a benchmark for the promotion of their brand all over the world. Quick to capitalize on advances in technology, Man U became the first football team to have its own television channel; also its website keeps fans updated on team selections, injuries and upcoming events, as well as an online ticket booth. But in the end it's the club, its players and their continued success on the field that keeps their supporters "in the Red"!
