JOHN F. KENNEDY - PART 2 - In June, 1963, President John F. Kennedy visited Berlin and toured the newly constructed wall that separated Communist east from capitalist west. He famously declared: "Ich bin ein berliner" - "I am a Berliner" - and said the Soviet wall demonstrated the failure of Communism as the regime was forced to put up barriers to prevent its citizens escarping. EDITH PIAF - Whenever Edith Piaf sang one of her greatest signature tunes, "Je Ne Regrette Rien," it never failed to resonate with an audience. Because everyone knew that with the life she'd led, most lesser mortals would have regretted just about everything. TIGER WOODS - A child prodigy, professional golfer Eldrick Tiger Woods was just two years old in October 1978 when he appeared on the Mike Douglas TV Show, putting against Bob Hope. Unlike many other prodigious talents, however, Tiger grew up to fulfill his remarkable potential and, indeed, surpass it. ELEANOR ROOSEVELT - Eleanor Roosevelt, wife of Franklin D. Roosevelt, the thirty-second President of the United States, was the most beloved and influential First Lady in history. Born a Roosevelt in her own right in 1884, she was the niece of President Theodore Roosevelt and grew up immersed in politics. WALT DISNEY - In the history of show business, no one has ever captured the imagination like Walt Disney. The talented artist spent the last years of WW I as an ambulance driver. True to form, his ambulance was covered, not with camouflage, but with his cartoon creations. Returning from France, Disney struggled to forge a career in the film world, but he persevered and eventually hit pay dirt with a talking mouse his wife Lillian named "Mickey."
Growing up in Missouri must have seemed a lifetime away from the bright lights and madness of Hollywood for Brad Pitt, but the star of movies, such as "Seven," "Kalifornia," "Ocean's Eleven" and its sequels, and "Inglorious Basterds" admits that the thought of settling down in a normal, nine-to-five job like his peers terrified him. His passion was films, and if the movies weren't coming to Missouri, then Pitt would go to them. The role that brought him to attention was as the sexy thief who held up convenience stores and seduced Geena Davis in "Thelma and Louise." However, his personal life - particularly his relationship with Angelina Jolie and their large brood of mostly adopted children - tends to take the media's focus from his film career.
