Madonna is an American pop icon and a revolutionary who remains one of the most influential figures in American music and culture. Her journey has not always been an easy one, but this strong-minded woman has found unrivalled success though self-belief and determination. From arriving in New York as a teenager with a dream and only $37 in her pocket, through two broken marriages and becoming a single mother of four, Madonna's personal story is a moving one. Her professional career is more diverse and successful than any other woman in music history. She has influenced the world of fashion and music over the past three decades. She has acted, directed, produced, and written film documentaries. She is also an author, and the profits from her children's books go to charities that work with orphans in Malawi. Few women have had as much power in the entertainment industry as Madonna, and the Queen of Pop doesn't look like she's slowing down anytime soon.
It was Montana-born Gary Cooper's horse-riding skills, countryboy looks and shy hesitancy, which created a unique screen presence.
