He couldn't believe the crowded, glittering night sky at the planetarium was real-until a visit to the country years later revealed the impossible. That discovery was like rocket fuel for Neil's passion about space. Before long, Neil became America's favorite guide to the cosmos. This story of how one boy's quest for knowledge about space led him to become a star scientist is perfect for young children who are fascinated by the universe, aspiring scientists, and the dreamer in all of us. Outside of the United States and Canada, soccer is called football. And in Brazil, which is synonymous with this world game, it is this country's passion that has produced some of the world's best players, one of whom is known as the "King of Football" or "King of Soccer," Pele. At the age of 17, Pele joined Brazil's World Cup team, fulfilling a promise made to his father to win a World Cup for him. He starred until 1966, when an injured Pele swore he would not play in another World Cup after allegations of cheating. Meanwhile, Pele's club "Santos" played exhibition matches around the world during breaks in the season, and in 1969 Pele scored his millionth goal in a game against Argentina. Crowds swarmed onto the field as history was made, and from then on Brazilians have been known to reminisce about where they were when Pele scored the "Mallisima."

Several of the world's great aviators learned their craft in the bloodbath that was the Great War. The pilots of Germany, France and Britain who were able to master combat flying in time to prevent an early death were known as "Air Aces."
Since 1995, Bill Gates has been either the wealthiest or one of the wealthiest people in the world- not bad for someone who's last full-time work day at Microsoft was in 2008. He remains as Chairman of Microsoft and created the position of Chief Software Architect for himself with the company so he could also pursue philanthropic challenges, including scientific research programs through the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, which he and his wife established in 2000. The success story of this software icon began back in the late seventies with a college friend, Paul Allen, launching the Windows operating system, and the rest, as they say, is history.
