She learns that there is a lot of science and technology that goes into growing healthy plants and crops. Plus, Shawn will talk with a lady who started a cake bakery where she uses her artistic talents making beautiful and creative cakes for weddings and other memorable events.
PACKAGING WASTE - We take a look at recycling the packaging of both business and domestic waste. RECYCLING SLUDGE - The University of Teesside has developed an environment solution for orche sludge from the Skinningrove Iron Mine. MEXICO TIRES - Governments are developing projects aimed at recycling old tires. BATTERY RECYCLING - In the UK a nationwide recycling plan that will eliminate 51 million batteries from landfill sites. MOBILE PHONE RECYCLING - We look at biodegradable mobile phones. CHINA WATER PURIFICATION - We look at projects to recycle rainwater. RECYCLING - In Buenos Aires, there's a train called 'El Cartonero'; it runs from industrial rustbelts to the capital's wealthier districts to transport 'Cartoneros' - people who collect 'carton' or 'cardboard' to recycle to earn a living. Dr. Augustin, a.k.a "Duke," was born in Montreal Canada and moved to Florida with his parents when he was seven years old, speaking only French and Haitian Creole. An avid athlete, Duke was offered 16 division 1 football scholarships to attend Villanova University, where he went on to earn his Bachelor's degree in Communications.
