The basic terms of geometry are presented as building tools. New terms: point, path, line segment, line and ray.
Major concepts... non-standard measurement units and estimates. It reinforces the notion that reliable measurement units can be derived from representational objects in the everyday world (apart from the human body, which is covered in Rule of Thumb). Visual proportionality is introduced, and children learn they can calculate measurement even without rulers, tape measures, etc.

Miami is an international city, but there's more to experience than just gorgeous beaches in this Floridian hot spot. Miami is multi-international city that has more entertainment than you could possibly take in. From sipping Cuban cafe con leches in little Havana, to dining in the trendiest, celebrity-crawling restaurants, the city of Miami has something for everyone. We first take you to the oldest building in the Western Hemisphere, The Ancient Spanish Monastery. This jewel of Miami's was purchased from Spain and rebuilt stone by stone in 1953, making this the "the biggest jigsaw puzzle in history." Next, bring your bug spray and some alligator spray too, as we head to the heart of the Florida Everglades to learn how the Miccosukee Indian Tribe built their community in a swamp and how this tribe flourishes in the swamp to this day. Then we'll visit a little taste of Southern Europe right in the heart of as we visit the Vizcaya Museum and Gardens.
