Louis Braille was just five years old when he lost his sight. He was a clever boy, determined to live like everyone else, and what he wanted more than anything was to be able to read. But even at the school for the blind in Paris, there were no books for him. And so he invented his own alphabet-a whole new system for writing that could be read by touch-a system so ingenious that it is still used by the blind community today. Award-winning writer Jen Bryant tells Braille's inspiring story with a lively and accessible text that's filled with the sounds, smells, and touch of Louis's world. Boris Kulikov's inspired paintings help viewers understand what Louis lost and what he was determined to gain back through books.

We are shedding light on the importance of fathers and father figures in the family structure. Fatherhood is a cornerstone of family life and society, playing a vital role in the development and well-being of children. Their presence and active involvement contribute to a child's emotional, cognitive, and social growth. Research shows that children with involved fathers tend to perform better academically, have better emotional and psychological well-being, and are less likely to engage in risky behaviors. Becoming an engaged dad has benefits for fathers, too: engaged dads set goals and achieve greater success, healthy habits become more important, and self-esteem increases as dads see their value. Guests: Eric Chisem Jean-Robert Menard Arlene Connelly-Drummond

John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr - the four most iconic names in pop music; though they began parting ways as a band in 1969, it became official in April of 1970, ten years after their formation as the Beatles. This program examines the phenomenon that was Beatlemania; then documents each musical artist's life after being part of the most popular group in music history. Some blame the break-up on John for forming the Plastic Ono Band with his wife Yoko Ono; though Paul also sought more time with his family and a chance to pursue a solo career, which he did in creating a group, Wings, with his wife, Linda. George went on to not only produce a hit album, "All Things Must Pass"; but also he collaborated with Ravi Shankar, set up "Hand Made Films," which produced the Monty Python movies, and teamed up with Roy Orbison, Tom Petty and Bob Dylan, as the Travelling Wilburys. Ringo went on to produce solo albums, did some acting, and later narrated the popular children's TV series, "Thomas the Tank Engine." After John was murdered in 1980, the remaining Beatles put their differences asides and collaborated on a documentary series called "The Beatles Anthology," which featured two previously unheard songs written by John Lennon - "Real Love" and "Free as a Bird." Despite Linda McCartney's death from breast cancer in 1998, and George's death from lung cancer in 2001, Paul and Ringo, both in their 70s, have battled tribulations to carry on successful careers performing individually.

RONNIE BIGGS: Involved in the Great Train Robbery of 1963, Ronnie Biggs escaped from jail - fleeing from country to country as a fugitive. Upon his return to England, he was captured and returned to jail, released due to ill health in 2009, and died in 2013. COLIN STAGG: British Police desperate to solve the murder of Rachel Nickells in 1993 set a "honeytrap" for suspect Colin Stagg. His innocence was later confirmed through DNA testing. RUSSELL CROWE: Hollywood actor Russell Crowe lost his temper in 2005 and threw a telephone at a New York hotel concierge; he pleaded guilty to assault charges.
The Boeing 737 twin engine jetliner was to become Boeing's greatest success. Launched in 1967, the short range transport entered service the following year, and has remained in production ever since. In the 737, they have combined the best of all previous Boeing air craft. Among these is the fact that it has one of the lowest approach speeds of any jet transport, a great asset when landing at smaller airports with shorter runways. It also required minimum equipment for use in refueling. However, despite all its advantages, the 737 was soon overshadowed by the new, improved 747 Jumbo jet.
This program presents a biographical profile of Hillary Rodham Clinton prior to her becoming the United States' 67th Secretary of State. As we see, most American First Ladies have been content to stay in the background, but Hillary Rodham Clinton proved to be as ambitious as her husband, former US President Bill Clinton. Known for her deep commitment to social issues, the outspoken, self-proclaimed feminist has never been afraid to make enemies. Her belief in a world-class education for all children, as well as a better, fairer health system, has made her a target for more conservative members of Congress who have gone as far as accusing her of socialism. We see she receives more criticism for her decision to stand by her husband during the Monica Lewinsky scandal; however, Hillary Clinton faced her detractors with her head held high and eventually won the position of Senator of New York in 2001.
