Runaway slaves journey north along the Underground Railroad by following directions in a song, "The Drinking Gourd". LeVar celebrates the road to freedom paved by the Underground Railroad, introducing viewers to the history, heroes, stories and music of the African American culture which emerged from slavery. Members of an a cappella group, Sweet Honey In The Rock, perform and share their historical knowledge of slavery.

Greek medicine departed from the divine and mystical and moved toward observation and logical reasoning. Traditional Chinese Medicine has been around for thousands of years. As we look back, it is easy to see that modern medical science has indeed made incredible advances and contributions, which have alleviated much pain and suffering, and will likely continue to do so into the future with advancements in stem cell research, surgical technique, prosthetics, sub-cellular intervention, metabolomics and more.
