(2017) This program examines the introduction of cattle to the Hawaiian islands and the establishment of ranching on the island of Hawai'i-from bullock hunting in the early 19th century, to the formation of cattle ranches and the day to day jobs and concerns of those who lived and worked on the ranches up to the middle of the 20th century. The origins of Kahua Ranch on the island of Hawai'i are explored.
