Description

First hand accounts show examples of the effects of global warming. Part 1 investigates the effects of melting ice caps on polar ecology, particularly on the lives of Northern animals such as the polar bear. Part 2 visits coral reefs in Indonesia where rising sea temperatures are causing coral bleeching and distruption of the coral reef food chain. Part 3 visits Al Alto, Bolivia, where the melting glacier is depleting drinking water and reducing electricity supply. Part 4 visits the Hooper's Gallery in London where a collection of photographs captures the effects of global warming and climate change in the United Kingdom. Part 5 returns to the Arctic to film melting ice caps, and an Arctic survey team that is preparing to take accurate measurements of the changes that are occuring as a result of global warming. Part 6 visits Bavaria where Germany's last glacier is dwindling. The sequence films attempts to prevent the glacier from melting.
