He is the author of ON DISINFORMATION: HOW TO FIGHT FOR TRUTH AND PROTECT DEMOCRACY. ?Disinformation, is the deliberate spread of false or misleading information?was never the sole domain of foreign actors, but its use by domestic politicians and grifters have ballooned in recent years. And yet the country has been unable to rein it in because the very subject has become a partisan, politicized issue. This is especially worrisome today as half of the world?s population will go to the polls this year making the need for trusted information vitally important. Disinformation has been around for centuries so why now the greater concern?
