Victor then says a blessing to the children and together they say a blessing over the grape juice and challah bread. After everyone enjoys the meal, Charlie's friends thank her for including them. Lieutenant Colin Race is investigating the death of two Navy personnel when a distraught Sheila Webb runs out of 19 Wilbraham Crescent and into arms. Poirot arrives in Dover to help Colin determine if Sheila is responsible for the murder of the middle aged man found stabbed no the sitting room floor. Sheila claims not to know the murdered man or the blind woman who owns the house, Miss Pebmarsh. Miss Pebmarsh was not at home when the murdered corpse was found denies having requested the secretarial services of Sheila by telephone earlier that day. Poirot observes the mounting complications to the case - the four clocks frozen at the time of thirteen minutes past four in the room where the body was found, an unidentified murder victim and a host of neighbours who don't seem to have seen anything. Colin is determined to find a connection with the recent death of his fiance and a German mole from within the Navy but in his state of grief he becomes increasingly involved with Sheila Webb. A wall of evidence begins to build against Sheila and the clock ticks for Poirot when another innocent victim is found brutally murdered.
Lynley and Havers are called to Smithfields Market, where the body of a man has been found frozen inside a meat truck. The victim is carrying a forged British passport and a parchment covered in Arabic script. The conclusion is that he was an illegal immigrant, but was it an accidental death? The page turns out to be part of an immensely valuable ancient golden Koran, more than enough motive for murder. The victim had also had one of his kidneys removed, and would have been gravely ill as the remaining one was badly diseased. Lynley is showing signs of strain. Predatory lawyer Christine Marshall is pressuring him to start an affair, while Helen has written to him wanting a divorce. It leads him to be far less patient and tactful than usual with DI Brennan of the Immigration Department, who also has an official interest in the case. Through him, the detectives trace the passport forger, and an expert at the British Museum gives a lead to a dealer in ancient Muslim manuscripts. But as the case progresses and he discovers that the victim's wife Narima is pregnant, Lynley has to ask himself how much he is willing to risk in order to solve the case.

In this insightful and entertaining programme, Monica and Giles travel to South America to work in Hacienda Hotel Vira Vira - a unique hotel near Pucon, the adventure capital of Chile and gateway to the Andes and the country's Lake District. Nestled within a 23 hectare native park along the shores of Liucura River, the hotel overlooks an active volcano which regularly spews ash and lava. Monica and Giles meet Swiss hotel owners Claudia and Michael Paravicini, who left behind big jobs in finance and sales in Europe to pursue their dream of setting up a luxury adventure-themed hotel. They discover the delicate balance of working with the indigenous Mapuche community who own the land surrounding the hotel. With just 12 villas and six rooms, Vira Vira is a small boutique hotel that is big on luxury and adventure. Giles and Monica work alongside Greg to prepare a once-in-a-lifetime meal for hotel guests. In the hotel's helicopter they fly above the volcano to a location with a stunning view to set up and serve a special meal. The pair work alongside esteemed horseman Rodolfo, who takes them trekking through ancient Chilean forests on horseback. They meet chef Damian, who embraces the freedom offered by the hotel's organic farm and abundance of local Chilean produce. Damian uses skills acquired from years at the famous French Le Gavroche to transform dishes like Chilean sweet potatoes, crispy quinoa, green tomatoes and their own lamb into world-class recipes. The hotel has its own working farm on site, lovingly producing milk, yoghurt and all manner of dairy products to enhance the dining experience. Giles discovers that the farm is proud of its homemade Longaniza sausages, concocted using a secret recipe. And as a Swiss man, the prospect of a life without cheese was unbearable for Michael, who has gone as far as building a cheese factory next to the hotel that makes over 15 different types of cheeses entirely for Vira Vira guests to both enjoy and participate in making.

In Springfield, Samantha becomes immersed in the world of our nation's 16th president at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum. Next stop is the Route History Museum where Dr. Stacy Grundy illuminates what Route 66 was like for Black travelers in the era of Jim Crow and sundown towns. Before leaving the Illinois capital, Samantha enjoys a culinary original at the Cozy Dog Diner. She and Christina lunch with Buz Waldmire--brother to famous Route 66 artist Bob Waldmire (whose "road yacht" Samantha and Christina encounter along the way. At the Ace Neon Sign Museum, Dennis Bringuet recalls memories of the Cozy Dog Diner while he shows Samantha and Christina one of the world's best collections of vintage neon signs. Samantha follows the red brick road portion of Route 66 in Auburn to the Cahokia Mounds, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and home to remains of the most sophisticated prehistoric native civilization north of Mexico.
