The sheer variety of plants that call it home are staggering - thanks to the Garden's Mediterranean climate, varied topography, and nearby coastal setting. There are 29 themed garden that include plants from regions around the world. In this first of a two-part series, we take viewers on a tour of the Garden, starting with the gorgeous collection of tropical plants in the stunning new conservatory. We then take in some of the many interesting collections from regions around the world: South Africa, Asia, Australia, and more. Why do those plants grow so well in San Diego County? How do they fit into the wider world of conservation? How can they be used in home gardens? We'll touch on all of these topics through conversations with the Garden's executive director, Ari Novy, and members of the Garden's professional staff.
