Cajun and Zydeco music are an integral part of Louisiana?s musical culture, particularly in the Southwest region of Acadiana. In the early years of French music in Louisiana, however, few women were on the main stage?that is, until Cajun Queen and star accordionist Sheryl Cormier. In this episode of La Veill?e, we had the honor of talking with the Queen herself, along with her fellow musician Jane Vidrine, about Sheryl?s legacy and her impact on the new generation of Cajun female musicians.
