In this lecture, Dr. Esther Schwartz-McKinzie takes a look at domestic violence in China, a country which has taken unprecedented strides forward in the area of economic development in the past two decades. Does the status of women automatically advance as a country advances? What does activism about this issue look like in a country that desires to control speech—in the classroom, in the media, and even online? And, what does resistance look like?
