Jewish political activist Szmul Zygielbojm committed suicide in London in 1943 to protest against the world's inaction to stop the Holocaust. The story is told from the perspective of a young journalist in Britain played by actor Jack Roth. Like most people, he was unaware of the scale of the crimes against Jews. Arthur Zygielbojm of Lincoln, Nebraska is Szmul's grandson. He joins Daniel Greene, Adjunct Professor of History at Northwestern University and Nebraska Public Media's Nancy Finken in a conversation after the film.
