Description

MICHIGAN: AN AMERICAN PORTRAIT celebrates the traditions, history, and culture of the Wolverine State. Featuring striking footage across all four seasons, the hour-long documentary captures the breadth and scope of this geographically diverse state. For three years, crews filmed at more than 80 locations throughout the state, capturing dramatic footage from atop the southern span of the Mackinac Bridge, and drone footage in multiple locations such as Copper Harbor. They endured sub-zero, near-blizzard conditions at Bond Falls; witnessed beautiful sunsets over Little Traverse Bay; and visited other local terrains along Lake Superior, Michigan, and Huron. Along the way, they captured the renaissance taking place in Detroit. The film also chronicles significant elements of Michigan's history, including its roots in the Native American experience; its world-renowned innovations in automation, farming, technology, and manufacturing; and its impact on the arts.
