History of Scioto Country Club: Opening in 1916 as a centerpiece of Upper Arlington, Scioto Country Club has seen many championship games and celebrities on its course. In celebration of its 100th anniversary in 2016, we take a look at how it has stayed relevant in Columbus and in the nation. Beer Recipes: Quick and quirky history of beer making in Columbus and how recipes have evolved from the 1850's German immigration to now. Temperance Row: The focal point of the temperance movement was in Westerville Ohio where forces gathered to stop alcohol production throughout the nation. We find out what happened when a craft brewery set up shop last year in the city known – until recently – as the Dry Capital of the World. From the Vault: Fun and funky beer artifacts from the Ohio History Connection. Pocket Parks: 9 neighborhood organizations received a ‘Parcels to Places’ grant to create small parks on abandoned city owned lots. We talk with 2 neighborhood organizations that share their experiences in setting up safe places to gather.
