In 1952, the Monongahela (a.k.a. "Mon City") All-Star Team had won the Pennsylvania state championship and was headed to the Little League World Series in Williamsport. This momentous accomplishment would be marred by a tragedy that shocked the townspeople, and the entire Little League community.
