A reform school, Dozier acquired a well-documented reputation for brutal physical and sexual abuse of boys incarcerated there. Hundreds of men, known as ?The White House Boys,? have come forward to tell of the brutality they suffered as children at Dozier. Much of the abuse took place in a small building on the grounds that was referred to as the ?White House.? Investigations continue into the staggering number of deaths at the facility; more than fifty burial sites have been identified. In the first of a multi-part series, Aware show host Dee Dee Sharp interviews two survivors of Dozier, Robert Straley and Andrew Puel, both of whom have published books about their experiences.
