Then Shawn will visit a children's hospital where he meets a respiratory therapist. He'll learn about the some of the treatments he uses to help his patients breathe freely. It is important that judges make the best decision on a case. Helena will talk with an attorney who assists a judge by researching the law as a judicial law clerk.

It's island living we seek on this episode of Travel Thru History! We visit a spectacular chain of islands off the Southern coast of Florida known as the Florida Keys. The keys have a rich history and culture distinct from the Florida mainland and her story is filled with pirate adventures, mystery and intrigue. The locals call it the Conch Republic and proudly hoist their flag in rebel defiance, just like their pirate past. First, we'll visit the Mel Fisher Maritime Heritage Museum, named for the famous Treasure. Mel and his dive crew discovered over $500 million dollars worth of Gold and Silver waiting patiently on the bottom of the Atlantic for over 450 years. Next, we'll set sail to the Dry Tortugas, a small group of islands discovered by the famous "Fountain of youth" seeker, Ponce De Leon. There, we'll tour the incredible Fort Jefferson. We'll learn how the Dry Tortugas got their name and what's become of it over the last half-a century. Finally American literature enthusiasts will enjoy a look at Ernest Hemmingway's Key West home, where some of his most famous works were penned.

Born in the small town of Emet, Oklahoma, Mary Thompson Fisher, later known as "Te Ata," was determined to pursue her passion as a performer. Supported by her undeniable charisma and oratorical talent, Te Ata entertained and enlightened audiences across the world, including royalty and statesmen. Throughout her travels and performances, Te Ata kept her Chickasaw heritage close to heart and shared the unique story and spirit of the Chickasaw people. By studying and performing traditional Native American stories, she overturned negative stereotypes and advocated the preservation of Indigenous American cultures. As Chickasaw Nation Governor Bill Anoatubby noted, "She is a shining example of the power of artistic expression to change hearts and minds." In many ways, Te Ata Fisher paved the way for Native Americans on stage and screen and remains a treasured voice for the Chickasaw people.
The daughter of a successful businessman in Marlow, Oklahoma, Pearl Carter Scott was a dedicated and proud citizen of the Chickasaw Nation. She aspired until her passing in 2005 to do "whatever is necessary to help my fellow Chickasaws." This included service as a Community Health Representative and as a member of the Chickasaw Tribal legislature. Inducted into the Chickasaw Nation Hall of Fame in 1995, she was also inducted into the Oklahoma Aviation and Space Hall of Fame, and the International Women's Air and Space Museum Hall of Fame A charter member of the National Museum of American Indian at the Smithsonian, Pearl was listed in the 1978-79 edition of "Personalities of the South", the 1989-90 edition of "Outstanding Women of America", and in the Chickasaw Historical Section of the Memphis Magazine. In 1990 she was honored as Homecoming Queen and Guest of Honor for the 60th Anniversary Celebration of Wylie Post's trip around the world.
