Dr. Ambrose's dirty trick on Death changes the patient's fate and outrages Death. The doctor loses all his powers, but Princess Camilla recovers. Soon after, they marry and live happily ever after because Ambrose no longer has Death for a Godfather.

In 1983, Song published her first collection of poetry, Picture Bride, which won the Yale Series of Younger Poets competition, a very prestigious national poetry award.
